Quick question: Family international travel series?

I’m just hopping into your inbox with a bit of a different request. I normally write personal essays about spaces where beauty and justice meet— usually kid lit! Sometimes Little Women 😀 However, we have the massive joy of getting to take our little family to Spain for a month to see extended family. We will have two weeks of being full-on tourists (including a week in Rome, Italy!), and two weeks of staying at a farm in the south of Spain that caters to worldschoolers. SO. I’m wondering if you’re interested in hearing me write about that?

The way I am envisioning this is as a 4-part series, one essay releasing each week for a month. This would be free for paid subscribers. For everyone else, they’d have to sign up as a paid subscriber for a month, but then I’d send them an email reminding them to downgrade to free again. (Also, did you know you that apparently you can transfer substack subscriptions? So you could switch to being a paid subscriber for a month, then switch that subscription over to someone else!)

My questions — and I have many— are genuine! I love reading stuff about international travel with kids, but I want to make sure that I’m creating something that people really want to read! I would really, really value any piece of input you have. Substack readers are some of the most thoughtful people ever. What do YOU want to read about? This is your chance to shape the series! Let me know below in the poll, and the comments! Also, if none of you want to read about this, I don’t want to break my neck writing about it😁, so let me know if this is of enough interest to persue. For real! You will not hurt my feelings.

And, if international travel is not your thing- don’t worry, this is the only time I’ll talk about this until I create the series.

My first question is…. is this something you’d actually want? Or, maybe you’re interested, but not exactly interested enough to pay $5 for the month?

Second: Content. Would you be more interested in personal essays with pretty photos, talking about our experiences? (Like, similar to what I write each month, just… the travel version, and with cooler pictures, because… travel). OR would you want more technical “how to” or “trip hacks” kind of content (like, “My top 5 things to do with a five-year old on a 17 hour flight” / “The one item I’m so glad we brought”/ “Best way to save on museums” , or like literal “here is what we did for one week every day we were in Madrid” kind of stuff). OR would you want more of an educational bent? Like, stories and info on how we are doing school for this month, how we’re using travel as an educational experience etc?
